Safety and Security Films

Safety & Security Films are usually comprised of optically clear polyester films with adhesive on one side to adhere to the interior side of glass. This is an invisible coating that provides protection against glass shattering.

Mechanically, glass breakage occurs in the following situations:
• Impact stress from flying objects
• Flexing stress from wind pressure
• Bending stress from earth movements
• Thermal stress from differing solar energy on different parts of glass

Causes of glass breakages includes:
• Accidents & Social Unrest (Flying objects, Collisions, Demonstrations, Etc)
• Natural Disasters (Earthquakes, Hurricanes, etc)
• Forced Entry (Smash & Grab Burglary)
• Explosions (Bombing, Industrial Accidents, etc)

Our product thickness ranges from 2mil to 21mil (max. 525 microns) The main function aims to withhold the glass in the event that it is broken and reduce the impact and severity of injury or death from flying glasses. Our products’ performances are certified and conform to U.S. ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CRF 1201.
